From kids gear, to underwear, to edible cosmetics, these superstar forays into the fashion world mean they're laughing all the way to the bank.
Here are some of the biggest names trying their fashionista hands.

The multi-tasking mama launched her first fashion line in 2003, selling everything from jeans and T-shirts to lingerie and bags. In 2005, Lopez added a new line called SweetFace and JustSweet - a kids label.
Late last year the singer and her husband Marc Anthony announced they were set to design tandem fashion lines for US retailer Kohls and it seems a pesky thing like their separation isnt going to stop the collections from going ahead.
As of 2008, JLos various fashion labels were netting her $6.3 million a year.

The tennis superstar has never been one for taking the predictable and safe fashion route.
Throughout her sporting career, Williams has designed lines with Puma and Nike, and in 2004 launched her own clothing label, Aneres (its her name spelled backwards). Williams reportedly earns upwards of $12 million annually from the brand.

The supermodel's business portfolio includes her Ipanema footware line, which sold a whopping 25 million pairs of sandals and thongs last year, along with a lingerie line, her own eco-friendly beauty range and a fashion collection for budget retailer C & A in Europe.
The Brazilian stunner's various commercial projects helped her earn $40 million last year.

The Single Ladies singer and her Mum launched the "House of Dereon" label in 2005, before expanding the business to include a kids fashion range and a cheaper spin-off women's clothing range.
Knowles' fashion line helped the performer come in at number one on Forbes list of "moguls in the making", with earnings of $79 million.
Gwen Stefani, Harajuku Lovers, L.A.M.B

The former No Doubt songstress might have only launched her debut L.A.M.B collection in 2003, but the Grammy-nominee is said to have been making her own clothes since she was a kid.
Stefani's label L.A.M.B., which stands for Love Angel Music Baby (the name of her first solo album) along with her cheaper spin-off label, Harajuku Lovers, currently have an annual turnover of $90 million a year.
Soon, tots the world over will be able to look as cool as Stefanis own sons Kingston and Zuma after she announced she was teaming up with Target to design a line of kids clothes.

In 2005 the actress siblings turned their hand to high-end fashion, launching "The Row" and "Elizabeth and James" (named after their siblings).
These days, their fashion labels earn the Olsen twins more than $90 million a year, The Daily Beast reports.

From reality TV to the brains behind a potential billion dollar fashion empire, Jessica Simpson has had quite the transformation in the past decade.
The singer made her first foray in the style world in 2004 with a line of edible beauty products before launching the Jessica Simpson Collection which sells handbags, shoes, jeans and underwear.
According to Forbes, the blonde starlets fashion lines gross more than $452 million a year, with retail sales reportedly set to hit a whopping $US1 billion next year.

The hip-hop superstar launched the Rocawear clothing line with producer Damon Dash in 1999 and the label now sells everything from belts to kids clothes to a "big and tall" collection.
The company has an annual turnover of about $633 million, Forbes reports.
