KNOWN for creating bags that every celebrity, and soon after that every person with a fashion pulse, is dying to wear, Mulberry has added a new bag to its collection: the Carter. Already carried by stars including Lily Donaldson, Kate Bosworth, Kirsten Dunst and Emma Watson, the Carter's the season's understated must-have.

"I'm so thrilled with Carter," Mulberry creative director Emma Hill told us. "It's a new family and it's very much Mulberry-girl-grows-up. The autumn/winter 2011 season is a twist on the classically English countryside, and Carter is just the kind of bag that you can take from town to a country-house weekend."
In several sizes and colours, and featuring a classic chain handle, the Carter's subtle double lock detailing - which Hill explains comes straight from Mulberry's archives - will no doubt soon become as cult as the Alexa has. A classic camera shape, the Carter comes in embossed snake, crocodile nappa and softest suede - and, as always with one of her new additions, Hill's beyond excited about her shiny leather arrival.
"What we've ended up with is a new must-have bag, and one that fits perfectly with our quintessentially British sense of quirky style," Hill enthused. "We really hope you love it too!"
